Kobayashi Group CEO & Partner Alana Kobayashi Pakkala has been with the real estate development and investment firm for 19 years. Her expertise includes managing architectural and interior design, proforma and construction projects, and sales & marketing.
Since 2001, Alana has worked on all of KG’s luxury multi-family condominium projects such as Park Lane Ala Moana, ONE Ala Moana, Hokua, and Capitol Place. She also introduced the Luxury Spec Home division of KG and managed the development of Kukio Homes and Hokua Alii penthouse. Aside from luxury development, she has worked on affordable housing projects such as Kapolei Kai, is managing the development of Alder Street, and is working with the City of Kapolei on another soon-to-be-announced affordable housing development.
Alana Kobayashi Pakkala was born and raised in Hawai’i and attended Hanahauoli and Punahou schools before moving to Washington, D.C. where she graduated Cum Laude with a double major in English Literature and Psychology from Georgetown University in 1997. She is active in numerous community organizations and serves on the board of directors of the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children and Oahu Transit Services. She has been honored with the prestigious Girl Scout of Hawaii Woman of Distinction award. She has also volunteered for Hawaii Community Foundation as an ambassador evaluating applicants for grants and scholarships and chaired the Community Development Block Grant Selections Committee for the City and County of Honolulu for 2 years (committee member for 7 years). Her past involvements include being a former board member of Kapiolani Health Foundation, Assets School and GIFT Foundation of Hawaii.
